On Tuesday the Logan County Genealogical and
Historical Society, located right across the
street from the Lincoln Depot, hosted its
Holiday Open House.
|
The center for
the society is manned by all volunteers,
including Joanne Marlin, who on Tuesday morning
was greeting guests and offering up tasty sweets
and beverages. |
|
|
|
|
Other LCG&HS
members were on hand to visit with guests and
explain all the treasures that can be found at
the center. |
|
Local author and
society member, Bill Donath, was on hand with
copies of his latest book. Anyone making a
purchase was treated to an opportunity to have
the book signed by the author.
|
|
The Society was also selling a printed copy of
it's membership newsletter for the fourth
quarter, which by design contained a history of
the life of the Lincoln Depot.
|
|
The center is
open each Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 11
a.m. to 4 p.m. and the second and fourth
Saturday of the month from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
This LCG&HS is a great place to Christmas shop
with a nice selection of books by local authors,
many relating to local history and also the
history of Abraham Lincoln, the city of Lincoln,
and other communities around the county.
